Dr. Wen grew up in Calgary, Alberta and received her Bachelor of Science with a minor in sociology from McGill University. During her time in Montreal, Dr. Wen started exploring the art of stand-up comedy, which she still performs to this day. She attended Pacific University in beautiful Oregon for optometry school. During her last year of optometry school, Dr. Wen received six months of intensive training in ocular disease from experts at Bascom Palmer of Florida, the #1 eye hospital in the United States. There, she learned from the best in treating diseases of the retina, neuro-ophthalmology, and cornea. Dr. Wen also trained at the Optometric Vision Development Center in California, where she completed vision therapy activities and bonded with people of all ability levels, including special needs populations. Finally, Dr. Wen’s last externship was at the distinguished Hoopes Vision in Utah, where she worked closely with optometrists and ophthalmologists who specialize in laser eye surgery and other corneal and lens-related surgeries. She enjoys the peacefulness and small-town charm of Dawson Creek and is excited to settle down after all her travels in her educational career. Outside of work, Dr. Wen likes to watch Seinfeld and explore the great outdoors.
